Tracy Cox, soprano

Both as a singer and an activist, soprano Tracy Cox’s authenticity and leadership have become synonymous with a new vision for the opera industry.

Unforgettable as Helen in VHO's Fat Pig, Tracy has become central to our ongoing journey: as a co-founder of SINGTANK, a performer in Soundflight, and a costume designer for Orpheus & Erica.  Making her Met debut last Season in Davis' X: The Life and Times of Malcom X, Tracy was a Winner of the international Operalia Competition who has performed with L.A. Opera, the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, Teatro Filarmonico di Verona, the Györ Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Cincinnati Symphony. She received the Kirsten Flagstad Award from the George London Foundation, was a Grand Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera’s National Council Auditions, and was the 2012 Winner of the Music Academy of the West’s Marilyn Horne Song Competition.
